I don’t know what the formal name for these is, but it’s a parcel carrier handle. When parcels were wrapped in brown kraft paper and tied with twine, you would slip the hooks under the twine – et voila – a handle!

I know I know I know … those are handles that were wrapped around the string that was tied around a bakery box full of goodies, or a pretty dress in a box with tissue paper … always a handle on something special so it was easier to carry.
Yep. And when My mom would bring something home with this kind of handle on it, I’d keep the handle for… For… Well…for whatever a seven-year-old kid really needed a handle for!
