A QUICK EMAIL Tuesday morning from Joe Shaw mentions that this photo just may be a hoax. Joe credits his staff at The Southampton Press for mentioning it to him.
Here’s his note:
Of the underwater sign…creating an interesting discussion in our newsroom.
The Dallas Observer apparently ran it and credited only “Facebook.”
One of our guys said the only place it appears online is on a Reddit site, from a user who seems like someone who might have faked it.
Might be worth a little more investigation to see if it’s real or not–and if not, an interesting cautionary tale there!
