02.16.17: Make mine straight up
ASSOCIATED PRESS style says we should set the titles of books, magazines, newspapers, etc., in italics when we mention those in text. And I agree with AP style. I think those should be in italics.
But we don’t have to place the name of our paper in italics (especially capped italics!) under a byline or in a photo credit line. The capped italics in the example at left just looks…well…like a mistake. It’s just poor typography.
Me? I’ll take mine straight up, thank you!
