LET’S SAY you need to know the exact depth of a photo…or how wide you’re setting a caption…or how many words there are in a particular story.
InDesign’s got you covered, with the Info panel (left). In that panel, you can find out all sorts of information on whatever element you’ve selected. In the illustration above, I’m checking to see that there are exactly 200 words in a text box I’ve selected.
You can access the Info panel in InDesign’s at-the-top menu by going a few items down in the Window menu (right). There it is!
